Artist History Darc Steele was originally formed in Early 2000. After several failed projects Jeph Moir decided to turn to his family for the musicians he needed to form his next band. With Daniel Moir on Vocals and David Moir on bass they teamed up with drummer Matt Thompson to form the original Darc Steele. The Bands odd syle quickly drew a moderate fan base and the attention of some corporate sponsors. The quickly growing success of the band started to interfere with personal lifes and so drummer Matt Thompson left the band near the end of Summer 2000. The band than put together thier own little studio calling it DJM studios. it was a modest little operation basically working with a cheap little bheringer mixer a PC and some cheap recording software. They started recording several tunes but found that on thier meager budget and with the lack of an actuall drummer they had to improvise Using drum samples and loops instead of an actuall drummer created a new sound for the band bringing a more industrial/club sound to many of thier songs In spring 2002 the band reformed with the aid of thier cousin Adrian Minder on drums. However the threat of success once again tore the band apart and Adrian left the band to pursue other interests. The band has gone on trying to promote themselves with the rough recordings that they do have and have recieved mixed reviews. People seems to either love it or hate it, not very many people in the grey areas. The band is currently preparing to play more live shows after the holiday season. After an experimental performance with just the three remaining family members proved successful the band has decided that they will continue looking for new members but they can pull off the show by themselves. Between the effects and gimmics used in thier shows people say you tend to forget this isn't a full band and that the drums and other elements are either pre-recorded or sythesized. Look for live performances from Darc Steele early 2003!
