Press Reviews
Arbois 2000:
Two musicians, but are we really talking about a duo? Their instruments and voices accompany each other, to create more a sort of endevilled trio. The music is undefinable, a bit of folksong, a zest of Jazz... oriental notes giving a structured, agreable and generous music.
These two Brits have an original and unique tower of sound. It’s not so much that Andrea plays her flute, more that her instrument plays her, drawing on all manner of sound, expression and song.
When she sings, the listener doesn’t want her to stop, when she plays, he wishes her to continue oblivious of whether she sings her flute, or plays her voice. Richard drives the music, with a whirlwind of rhythm and dynamics.
According to tradition, he introduces each piece with irony, humour, and occasional absurdities either profound or daft. |
