Artist description Triad Background Information Members: Ron - age-41-Soundman\recording Engineer Dawn age-31-Singer\Keyboards\Songwriter Dave age-33- Lead \Rhythm guitar\Songwriter Don age-32-Drum’s\Percussion\Songwriter Kurt age 42-Bass\keyboards\Songwriter Triad was formed in 1982. It is a band that writes and records all of its own material In our basement studio. Originally, we tried to play around as a circuit band But it was difficult to get jobs due to the fact we did not do copies. Writing and Recording all of our own material required most of our time leaving little time For practicing other peoples music. In 1992, we decided to try the college radio stations. We put together a small Promo package, which included a 3-song demo cd, entitled “triad”. This was sent to colleges in all 50 states. Through contact over the phone, Many of them did give our demo airtime, but unfortunately nothing more Ever came of this. It was during this time, however, our soundman (34 yrs old), unfortunately And unexpectedly, experienced a massive stroke leaving him completely Paralyzed on the left side. He was also diagnosed with cardiomyopathy And not expected to live. Due to the fact that he was not only our soundman but also our brother Pretty much put an end to the college radio station project. We now spent Our time in one hospital after another involved in his care and rehabilitation. The doctors claimed he would never regain the use of his left side of his body And would never be able to walk again. They also claimed he would never Be the same cognitively. But his faith, love and support of the family Proved them all wrong. It was this in combination with the fact that our mother Along with another family member was out of state taking care of our 90-year-old grandmother that inspired another cd entitled “Have faith and believe”. This was a more spiritual project that initially was put together for our family and friends to give some hope and inspiration in some Very desperate and trying times. It was also the first project our soundman attempted Since his stroke in 1992. It seemed things were starting to look up once again, but in December of 1997, Our drummer and brother took a bad fall at work and injured his back. Please know these are not excuses for why triad has not become a rich successful band. On the contrary, it is a background of basically what has occurred in our past to lead Us in a different direction entirely. In analyzing how we choose to deal with personal Tragedies in our family, which includes our band it is obvious to us that fame, fortune And notoriety is not at the top of our list of most important things in life. And we do Not wish to compromise our love for one another for riches and fame. We are a Strong, loving family and cannot bring ourselves around to cutting a member out Due to personal tragedies in his\her life just to succeed at being wealthy or famous. Triad is still together with its original members and is still writing and producing Material. Needless to say, over the years triad has managed to compile tons of Original songs, some with lyrics, some strictly instrumentals that would fit into Almost any category (i.e.: ballads, rock n roll, country, pop rock and even Spiritual\gospel, to name a few) We believe “Triad” has much to offer in the way of music which is why we Are now trying the Internet. We might still be able to do something with our Material and keep our family and beliefs intact. After all music is not only A type of expression, but a gift to all those who hear it. Sometimes happiness Is received, or strength. Sometimes a sense of peace or inspiration to keep going. Hopefully those who download our music will enjoy it as well as receiving these gifts And if you have, we have done our job well. No money changing hands, no contracts needing to be signed No fame, fortune or glory needed.
