    Artist description
In October 1998, pop music had a little baby . . . and its name is the Jeremy Richter Effort. Having played alongside some of the biggest names on the regional and national scene - including the Argument, the Big Wu, Days of the New, Jamestowne, the Kudzu Kings, Molly Hatchet (yes, it's true), Orgy, Sugar Ray , and Widespread Panic - word of the "Little-Piano-Band-That-Could" is getting out. The Effort blends alternative and pop music into one chaotic, yet clean sound. This sound helped land the Effort nominations and honors as the Best New Band of 1999 and Outstanding Musical Group of 2000 from the Indie-Entertainer's Association of Nashville, TN. Early on, they had recorded and produced 3 EPs. The latest - the She is SheEP - held a Top 10 position for well over 6 months on the MP3.com charts. The lead single from that album, ‘You Don't Get Off That Easy’, also held high numbers on the Power Pop charts – reaching as high as number 2, just under Ozma’s cult classic, ‘Natalie Portman’. On April 27, 2001, the Effort released their first full-length album appropriately titled 'Saving Pop'. The Other Paper of Columbus, OH said of the album: "JRE crashes the party with its debut 'Saving Pop'. The spiraling piano flourishes . . . the sugary harmonies . . . the general air of irreverence . . . Saving Pop holds its own - deft, giddy and infectious." Combining tight musicianship and an eclectic songwriting style with high-energy stage shows, the Jeremy Richter Effort truly is the sound that will finally save pop music . . .

    Artist History
JRE came together by chance on the campus of Marshall University. We played for almost a year before moving on to the Columbus scene after Jeremy graduated. And soon the entire East Coast became our playground. We recorded two demos while in West Virginia, "...sorry to tell the truth" and "Live from Delta Road". We then recorded Lucky 13 at Dancing Turtle Studios in Columbus only to decide it sucked. We then went to a new studio and recorded "Saving Pop" which, thankfully, doesn't suck. And now, we have the new tracks . . . our latest brainchild is tentatively titled, "supergenius".
