Artist History SPEAK began in 1995, in Venice, California. Four musicians, integrating their musical experiences into a unified collage of groove music; creating vibrant, contrasting songs, sonic landscapes, and noise. SPEAK creates music from the soul and allows their musical influences to flow. In 1997, their debut album was independently released on BIG AS RECORDS. Listen and experience groove music: buddha, pimpinÕ, nothing ever is, everything is becoming. People react with a positive vibe to the music of SPEAK, Ò This sounds like all the music I like, mixed together,Ó Ò I donÕt know what you call this music, but I like it.Ó Musical boundaries fade when your hear SPEAK; four musicians finding freedom in music. SPEAK performs through out Southern California and has shared the stage with Daniel Lanois, King Sunny Ade, Peter Erskine, Ozomatli and many others. Today, 1999, SPEAK has released ESSENCE, a CD-single, allowing fans a first glance at the new sound to come from their next album, due in 2000.
