Artist description
Rebel Amish Radio is a killer funky rock band with two vocalists, one of which plays the bongos. The other plays guitar. When dynamically intertwined with a mighty powerful drum & bass, the sound is something really quite unique. |

Artist History
Formed in January of 1997, Rebel Amish Radio have emerged as one of the Mid-Atlantic regions most talked about acts. Their original blend of crunchy, powerful funk-driven rock, topped with duelling r&b-esque male and female vocal melodies, has earned the band critical acclaim in Maryland’s Music Monthly Magazine, Virginia’s Pitch Magazine, Baltimore’s University Reporter, and Pennsylvania’s Rockpile. These publications, in addition to MTV Online, not only give the band rave reviews on their self-produced debut CD, “Weekend at Jerry’s”, but also on their energetic live performance.
In addition to club appearances, Rebel Amish Radio have performed live at a number of local fairs and festivals sponsored by 98 Rock - WIYY FM in Baltimore, WHFS - 99.1 FM in Washington DC, and WZBH - 93.5 FM, The Beach, in Ocean City, Maryland.
This Spring, the band was featured in 98 Rock’s Opening Week Festivities at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Rebel Amish Radio has shared the stage with many National Recording Artists including King’s X, Second Coming, Buckcherry, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, and The Ernies, to name a few.
Their forthcoming CD, “Embracing the Struggle”, which showcases the band’s development and versatility in songwriting, will be released early this summer. In addition to releasing their own new disc, Rebel Amish Radio can be heard on the “New Metal Solutions for the Millenium” compilation. The CD features some of the East Coast’s hottest touring bands, and will be available for purchase in late June of this year.
