Artist History
Began creating music seriously by 1993, incorporating both electronic elements and live instruments, such as guitar and bass. Over the years, and with the additions of numerous hardware including a PC, the sound had changed from a rough-edged sounding industrial techno experiment to something more along the lines of experimental techno with a long line of influences of electronic music genres, which were no longer just being labeled as "techno" anymore. By 1999, the sound had transformed and lost most of its roughness and began making tracks without the use of an electric guitar. Software began to aid in tweaking, distortion, and audio manipulation, along with sequencing and MIDI. In 1999, a name was given to the neverending project, and it was called purity, after the group's founder's Internet efnet #industrial IRC handle. Songs were transferred to computer, and then transferred to the Internet, given to the audience of anyone who wanted to listen free of charge. It has then since been a policy to release all music free in some available Internet audio file. By 2000, purity had taken to incorporating turntables and mixing. After live performances in the mixing of goa and psy-trance, purity has then become a repeat DJ performer in the Southeast USA region. Live elements and live P.A. are being worked on to promote the live appearances, and creating original tracks have been put on temporary hold. As of August 2001, there are numerous projects being worked on, and new material is soon to be released once again, although you can now see purity performing regularly - just look for the flyers! |
