Artist History Herd of Turtles began in late 1994. After winning several reginal and local contests, Herd of Turtles, in 1997, added another member. This helped the music and the vocals. The CD "Herd of Turtles 2000" is now available on mp3.com. Bart Hammond (bass guitar/vocal) and Chris Kellam (guitar/vocal) have been playing music together since they were 12-13yrs. old. They met Stuart Mowery (drums)through a mutual friend in late 1994. The three played constantly (mainly originals). 2 years later they met Jon Stewart (guitar/vocal) through another mutual friend.
