Artist History Formed in 1998 with a dark musical vision in mind, the Detroit area band known as Dead by 28 began. The band formed when keymaster and dizman began to write demented halloween sound effects tapes using equipment they found in Dizmans grandmothers attic. With a broken guitar, and a 15 doller keyboard with built in drum loops, they began constructing evil chants, and disquieting music, which began thier deacent into the depths into musical chaos. Keymaster began searching for more morbid methods of creating a dark sound, on this search he came across and forbidden book written by a mad arab centuries ago. In this book he found a passage that forever changed the path of Dead by 28. "Y'AI 'NoG'NGAH , YOG-SOTHyOTH, pH'EE__L'GEB , F'AI' THRODOG , UAAAG!" to pronounce these words correctly was a matter of life and undeath, but he would learn. After careful preperation the experiment was ready. Even with all the knowledge he possessed this would be a very difficult task and would be highly unlikely to work. But dizman was convinced that keymaster was on too something and was eager to be the first to under go this wicked spell. So they prepared for the event which would take place on the sabbath of Walpurgis night. The night quickly arrived and at midnight upon dizmans request his throat was slit from ear to ear. While the blood was still fresh and spilling about the alter they had ressurected, keymaster began with the demonic chant, the words that shot forth were not of a language ever meant for human ears, they gave forth a thunderous boom with every hiddious syllable. There began a deep roar from the ground beneath, and an almost inaudable trible drum sound that was more felt the seen and the mystical piping of a deep sounding organ or whistle. (some say this is where the roots of dead by 28's music stem) after a few moments the corpse that was dizman began to steam as if burning in the fires of hell, it oozed with a red milky fluid which then seemed to seep into the sizziling monstrocity dizman had become. Upon the final syllable of the evil passage the corpse thrust upward with the swiftness unlike anything in the living world. The thing opened its eyes as if they withheld aeons of pain and suffering. And slowly they filled to blood red that chilled keymaster to the bone. After a few moments it spoke and indeed it had worked. There was so much darkness that he had seen in his momentary death, it would inspire a whole new era of darkness in music. they quickly patched up the flap of sskin hanging of his neck and began preparing for the 2nd of the relilations. as keymaster quizzed dizman of the spell he was about to perform he reminded him of all the little details that he must do in order for success, he would have to clear his clouded head or it would fail and if it wasnt done quickly the decay would set in and ruin any chance of keymaster being able to cross back over with hopes of performing again. He drank a glass of ethynol, and after a few moments began to twitch madly until finally the death shank had taken him from his body. Dizman hastily began with the mysterious passage, he acted as if possesed by some ancient nercomancer, resiting the words as if he had been programmed with this illicit knowledge from birth, perhaps it was from the rebirth. soon the keyboardist flung forward as if thrown into the body from some far reaching terror, he opened his eyes and they were ablaze with an anger that would break the nerves of the bravest man. The two abominations looked at each other and released a phycotic laughter that was heard for miles around in all directions. that laughter is still whispered about among the weak willed, that and the utter stench that surrounds the sinister area where the travisty had taken place. from that moment on the 2 spent all thetre time constructing music and honing there chilling sound to all new levels. Dizman played the bass with a pulsating triumph of a man well beyong his years, perhaps his journey into the aybss had aged him with the knowledge he now was using to create gis rough bass grooves and his angry screams and passages. Keymaster began to interweave the blackest magic into the patterns notes he was playing, it created a horrific background to the chilling music they were constructing. Several times they had tried to work with the living in making music, but each time these humans failed in there task or couldn't with stand there evil and stench that surrounded them at all times. They had overcome much in there time together as dead by 28, but something still was amiss, they were lacking a fierce guitar sound, a morbid rythym section to complete the legacy. the founding members Dizman (Vocals and Bass) and Keymaster (Synthesizers and Samples) began there musical experimentation. they scrawled out 7 tunes and created a demo called "kill the babysitter" and began performing these songs to a shocked audience. To lable thier unique sound would be a difficult task. Each Member brought many different musical tastes and stylings into the mix of the bands sound. Dizman with his fierce growls, angry screams, and sarcastic lyrics, along with the pulsating bass lines. Keymaster provides a Dark and Melodic, Carnival-Esque Backdrop. And the brutal percussion beats all form together into a nightmare inducing sound that eats away at your skin, and tears away at your soul. The music they create could easily provide a soundtrack to the works of a Tim Burton Film, any H.P. Lovecraft Stories, or countless Horror and sci-fi movies from the past. Dizman views are contrvesial and cover many topics in Dead by 28's lyrics. From pain, loss, freedom, overcoming self-defeatism, mocking current trends, self expression, religion, heartbreak, self-discovery and abandonment. His sarcastic-laced lyrics fit perfectly with the angry musical back ground the band provides. The band with help from Medea Records has began to distribute there cd "Kill The Babysitter" to the masses. They have been reaching many new listeners across the United States. And have begun to amass a large amount of fans that appreciate their Dark Aggressive sound. Currently the band is writing new material for a future follow up recording, as well as playing as many shows as possible. All the while using there uncomparible stage show to help spread there name, music, and message to anyone will to listen. And there was one who listened. Shortly after the release of the cd, they were called upon by a man, not just any man, a ninja. This highly acclaimed ninja went by the name of Mike E Clark, he had many people out and about searching for something out of the ordinary and one had stumbled across a rag tag group of beings called dead by 28. after hearing of them, he summoned the band to his lair, it was here in "The Funhouse" that the unholy alliance began. They quickly signed onto Mike e's label "B4 Music/Funhouse Records and They are currently have locked up in the funhouse writing and recording there first full length cd, what this group will produce will surely leave the masses uneasy and scared, and in a short time they will see what has been constrcuted in the morbid depths of the Funhouse. When i last spoke to the things in dead by 28 they prophisized of an evil that will soon take over, and they left me with these words "That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die"

The Keymaster Db28 "Just listened to "Burn Bitch Burn". im not a fan of most electronic music, but somehow this tune is different than the pack. The usual stuff is there, infectious drum programming, made me want to dance, not a pretty sight!, but what really caught my attention was the detuned keyboard riffs. This tune sounds like the theme music from some demented funhouse. It defiantly has an edge to it, that keeps you off balance, wondering what's going to jump out at you next. This song does exactly what other electronic music attempts to do, It evokes emotion, in this case anticipation and fear. Thanks DB28, I think I learned something today. I like this tune."
