    Artist History
Crowroad were formed after a chance meeting of three old friends in a downtown pub. They soon got chatting about music and decieded to get together for a Jam. Amazingly they remembered to turn up, and from that two-hour session Crowroad was born. Within a couple of months, Crowroad had won a regional band competition that was sponsored by an international brewery, this inspired them to record their first demo which received great press and airplay. With this initial success tucked under their belts the band managed to secure more gigs at various clubs and pubs and the occasional outdoor festival. The band then started to record on a regular basis, collaborating with their good friend and fellow musician Garfy to help with engineering and production. They sent these recordings to various record labels and people within the industry. The response was very encouraging resulting in a good rapport. They also made many friends in the business both at home and abroad and these friendships are now starting to pay dividends. With the onset of Boy/Girl bands and the Dance music explosion, rock, and indeed live music in general, suffered a decline in popularity for a number of years. Crowroad found this to be a difficult period but continued to press on and now, at last, the tide seems to be turning and rock-orientated music is once again returning to the mainstream. Crowroad have themselves noticed a change and are now attracting a much broader audience. The band have been playing venues on the London circuit and have also discovered the potential of exploiting the internet. They have received hoards of e-mail from fans throughout the world (particularly from the USA) and are building a cult of followers. This encouraged them to release their " Through my eyes " debut CD through the web. The song `Evolution` enjoyed great success at no. 1 for several months in the besonic.com global prog rock chart, and appears on various international Rock compelation cd`s. Crowroad were also "most accessed" out of over 14000 bands on the entire Besonic.com website, the biggest site in Europe. Demand for the last EP took the band completely by surprise. "Higher Than Me", a song from this disc, shot straight to Number One on the highly acclaimed BT "Get out there" web site. MTV selected all three songs from the EP for there Rock chart, all of which reached Top five positions. Crowroad again, became "most accessed band" on the entire Besonic.com site and are still dominating various Rock charts to date. They can now be found on many internet and International radio stations and have been selected for a "Best Of Rock" c.d by American giants mp3.com. Overseas representatives have approached the band regarding a tour. They have also been asked to shoot a video for broadcast on internet and cable T.V. networks which is scheduled for November 2001. All the hard work is finaly paying off for Crowroad. The future is starting to look very promising for Crowroad. They are ready to rock!! Are you?? Watch out for them!!

Three Guys that sound like six - a truley amazing performance - took my breath away.John Davies...London press.................... Crowroad are a band more often seen playing in London. It`s quite amazing that thet are just a three peice band.I just want to go and see them again!!. This is also one of the best produced CD`s i`ve heard from an unsigned band.Klubkat magazine.UK.................... This kind of music can`t be played any better!besonic.com.................... "When is someone gonna give these Guys a deal?.Awkwind BT.com............................................................................. Suffolk, England. Not the music capital of the world but perhaps the birthplace of one of the most exciting bands of recent times. Crowroad, a three piece making the noise of many more, hits you as a thought provoking, eclectic mix of many of rock’s finest but driven by their own underpinning dark sound. After a spacey intro "Higher Than Me" cracks into a full tilt piece. The feel of the song could be likened to The Cult back in the "Electric" days, but Chewy’s vocal gives it a more soulful, laid back appeal. Choruses are splashed with neat harmonies and the middle-eight draws you into a false sense of security before dumping you back in the fray. The second track "It", takes you slightly deeper into Crowroad’s collective wavelength. A sparse backdrop of bluesy groove is complimented by the dreamy chorus of twelve strings and ghostly voices. Distorted guitars darken the song with a solo that oozes and drips onto the track, leaving Chewy to contemplate - "Maybe they’re wrong / And then maybe they’re right" – the age-old question of indecision. "Crazed" strides off at an energetic pace, acoustic guitars lending a Latino feel backed with some intelligent use of percussion to give it a summertime flow. As the antidote, the chorus jumps in feet first, rudely awakening anyone still in sleep mode and the jagged stop / start build to the solo keeps the attention. Finally, as an added bonus to this CD, is the inclusion of the track "Evolution" from the previous Crowroad release "Through My Eyes." Recorded eighteen months prior to the three other tracks it is an excellent sneaky-peak into the bands’ development over that period and shows the imagination that goes into their songwriting and performance is seemingly infinite. So, if you think that "nu" is now "olde" you could do a lot worse than checking this band out. To borrow from the chorus of the second track – "This could be it" – and quite possibly it could be. Jester September 2001
