Artist description Late last year, 20 year old songwriter,guitarist and vocalist Adam Miner emerged from Ontario’s cafe scene with EXIT DOOR, an eight song CD capturing this young artists first statement. Now, Adam Miner is releasing his first full-length album, the twelve song Falling Moths. Recorded in the Spring of 1999 at A.M.E. Recording Studio in Kitchener Ont., Falling Moths features Adam on vocals, guitars and D’Jembe; Dwuane Stephensand Tim Tanner, members of his live band, on bass and drums respectively; and production by Andy Horrocks (The Northern Pikes, Chewy). The disc also features a duet with David Miner, Adam’s father and primary musical influence. Within the walls of Andy’s small basement studio, Adam and company created a rare combination of sound and vision: passion soaked vocals laced throughout portentous instrumental work. "Falling Moths" is a singular voice that sings with a unique blend of pop-rock, and folk influences. It’s evident from the lead off title-track that this album is an intense listening experience. Songs like “Cigarettes and Coffee” show that Adam is a multi-faceted songwriter, capable of penning fun pop tunes that connect with everyday people. “She Say’s I’m Beautiful,” is a driving thrash-about, withAdam’s sweet voice soaring over, witnessing the carnage below. From delicate acoustic musings, smooth Samba’s and straight ahead rock, the restof the album is proof that Adam Miner is one of this country’s rarest talents. Adam’s youthful passion creates shape and drama to his lyrics, and an eerie third dimension to this record. “Falling Moths” is a well written second chapter to a guide of Adam’s artistry. One has only to anticipate the success he will achieve.
