Artist History
Manifold Object greets from Finland with atmospheric and progressive metal.
The history of Manifold Object goes back to the beginning of 2001 when a
band called Painting the Moon was formed and it existed for three months
since. The style of music was totally different to what it is nowadays,
because back then it was somekind of dark metal. However, after three months
our drummer M.Syvänen decided to leave the band leaving us without a
drummer, luckily not for long...
Because as we found M.Pajakkala to the battery and new material was
composed, we noticed that the style of music started to move strongly
towards a more original direction. Some other line-up changes were also made
as J.Suvanto transferred himself to the bass and V.Kojo was taken on a
try-out to the vacancy of rhytm guitar, but soon he was kicked out. In
summer 2001 the band was named Manifold Object. After a half-year of
composing, arranging and rehearsing the music with this line-up we were
satisfied with it and the studio was booked for the beginning of October and
in the end of November 2001 the promo was released to the unexpecting crowd.
The first promo entitled "Postnatal Transparence" received very positive
feedback from the prog/metal audience around the world, for example 8/10 in
Terrorizer magazine and so on. After a while, as plenty of new material had
already been composed and rehearsed during spring 2002, we invaded the
notorious Kuolio studios in August to record our new promo-cd entitled
"Mirrorlike". The release was scheduled for early December and now we're
waiting for feedback, after sending dozens of promo-copies all over the
world...
