Artist History
It all started in summer 2000 with best friends James and Chris. At the time, Chris had recently took up the bass guitar and wanted to play in a band, but unfortunately he really sucked. None of his musician friends would play with him, since they were all educated masters who didn't have time for a mere amateur. Determined, Chris decided he'd start his own band with his own untalented friends. Topping the short list of friends was hip-hop gangsta thug: James. One day, Chris just says to him, "Hey you should get a guitar and we could start a band." To which James replied, "Yeah that would be cool." Thus, Latchkey was born.
A couple weeks later, Slick Jimmy bought a cheap guitar off of E-Bay and purchased an amp as well. Soon enough, our dynamic duo was jamming out songs in James' room, very badly. It was obvious from the beginning that this was gonna take a lot of work, but their desire burned strong. And so, after gaining a little skill, they began playing with other musicians. Drummers, guitarists, pianists, singers, erotic dancers, they tried a lot of people, but nothing seemed to click. And eventually, it was looking like every option had been exhausted. They had the drive and inspriation, but no one to complete it with.
Finally the day would come when they'd meet their destiny. And after that was done, they saw Dustin and remembered he played drums. Dustin was thought by some to be homosexual, so they weren't sure at first. But then they remembered a lot of people thought that about them too... hey if Dustin joined then they could all be possibly gay together! It was a match made in heaven. An invitation to come into the band was extended and was accepted. Now, Latchkey was complete, James, Chris, and Dustin. Three guys who everyone thinks are gay, but sure as hell make kickass music!
