Artist description
From Oneonta NY, this seven piece band takes influence from rock, ska, jazz, hip-hip, metal, blues, and classic rock. Formed in the fall of '99, STU has spent the last two years playing to enthusiastic crowds in Oneonta NY, Albany NY, Syracuse NY, Poughkeepsie NY, New Paltz NY, Binghamton NY, Waverly NY, Sayre PA, and Wilkes-Barre PA. Their seven-song debut EP "Live From The Recording Studio" was independently recorded, produced, and released in the winter of 2000. All seven members are deeply committed to the success of the band and continue to write songs, book shows, and update the website without the aid of manager or agency. STU is currently working on releasing a second independent album sometime in early 2002. |

Artist History
STU was born in Oneonta NY in the fall of 1999. Originally a rock combo, STU started taking influence from ska bands such as Less Than Jake, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Goldfinger, and Reel Big Fish. They went on to incorporate a horn section, and have since been writing songs influenced by classic rock, heavy metal, jazz, ska, blues, and alternitve music. |
