REVIEW: Cheap Magnet. 'Mathematical Chess (Black Vs White)'. (2:32)
This has to be the best idea for a song I've heard in ages! A helium voice introduces a melodic battle between two mathematical chess pieces. The concept is similar to the hip-hop mc battles of old. White piece plays a computer game ditty in the left ear and the black piece responds with a complimentary tune in the right ear. Computer voices punctuate the action, along with nice effected breaks. Now this may sound a bit 'toytown', but it's all done with such style and verve that it stands on it's own as a serious composition. Refreshing! Check out the Cheap Magnet MP3 page for other inspired madness!
