Artist description the darwin engine is the solo project of Matt Schaefer. Matt is currently the drummer for the bands Lift (Belleville, IL) and Babyoda (Murfreesboro, TN). He is a resident of Millstadt Illinois, and attends school at Middle Tennessee State University. The Darwin Engine is a very personal and complex musical reflection of Matt's sometimes erratic thought pattern. The result could rarely be described as normal or expected. Matt is in charge of every aspect of the band, as he fills all musical and administrative roles. The only way to understand this project is to hear it. It is like nothing you have heard.

Artist History The Darwin Engine was founded officially in 2000. Informal recordings took place for the years preceding the release of the first CD, "Aftermath of the Eclipse" on March 21, 2002. The Darwin Engine is currently in the studio working on a follow up.
