Artist description
Strange Fire is hard rock, real vocals with personality, Gibson guitars through Marshall amps, edgy riffs, solid melodies, psychedelic mood swings, punk savvy, creative songwriting, live tour de force.
Simply put, Strange Fire plays modern hard rock, blending decades of influences into one totally unique musical stew.
Sounding very familiar, converging from somewhere quite dissimilar. BRMC, The Vines, The Hives, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, The Cult, Jesus and Mary Chain, U2, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Stones, The Kinks, signposts all melding together in what is Strange Fire.
Lead vocals features Mark Warner, maximum stage presence, you can hear audiences chanting Morrison and then come the comparisons to Bono or The Cults Astbury, all the power, all the mystery, all the charm and just as disturbing.
Lead guitar features Tim Russell, vintage yet cutting edge, rhythm and solos, blend Jimmy Page and Steve Jones, the blues and Iggy, that is hard rock. Texture, riffs, mood, attitude. Principal songwriter. Just this side of normal. Just.
Bass features Robb Forby, a professional to the core, say no more. The quiet guy. Deep as a river.
Scud mans the drums. Solid, subtle, powerful. Bonham meets Baker meets Watts. The rock all this is built on.
Strange Fire. Hard rock. Modern Hard Rock.

Artist History
BIO 2003
Strange Fire, based in Huntington Beach, California, is a four piece group whose sound has been compared to a cross between The Cult, The Doors, Led Zeppelin and the Sex Pistols. Formed in July of 2002 to focus on their original brand of hard rock, Strange Fire has been performing in the Orange County and Los Angeles area since December, 2002.
Strange Fire consists of Mark Warner on lead vocals, Tim Russell on guitars and vocals, Robb Forby on bass and vocals, and Scud on drums and vocals.
Tim most recently played with FOV, gaining a nomination for Best Rock Band in the 2002 Orange County Music Awards. Previously Tim played lead guitar in Tripsonic and Zen 17. Tim released the independent CD Cellophane Fusion as Fade to Blackin 1997.
Mark most recently played with Tim in Tripsonic, touring throughout the Southern California area in 2001-2002. Previously Mark was the leader of The Gathering, touring England and Scandanavia where their independent CD gained aclaim and significant airplay with the single Babylon.
Robb Forby, bass and vocals, is the quintessential professional in the group. Most recently Robb played with Cowboy Buddha, but he has toured with some of the biggest names in SoCal. From clubs to arenas he's done it all.
Scud started working with Tim in FOV in 2002. Upon both their exits from FOV Scud joined, helping to provide the rock solid foundation for Strange Fire. Scud is probably best known for his work with Rotten Rod and the Warheads, who released a couple of successful independent CDs and played to sold-out crowds throughout the SoCal area.
