Artist description
Shane grew up in the small town of Chillicothe, Ohio and began singing at an early age. While most kids were playing games, Shane was listening to The Ralph Emery Show and learning songs by his heroes Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Keith Whitley and others. After graduating high school, Shane enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He was in the first wave of Desert Storm and received the "Navy Commendation Medal - Combat V" for his part in those early moments of the ground war. It's not something he talks about much, if you can get him to talk about it at all. Shane began pursuing his music career in earnest (when he finished his stint with Uncle Sam) by playing in a popular regional country band that still holds many attendance records throughout clubs in Ohio. Shane soon felt the calling of a career in music and began performing his own songs. Shane spent time in Nashville sitting down with other writers and performing at various clubs including The Bluebird Cafe. He recorded 10 songs in Nashville with session players that has evolved into his debut release. The single: Reel Redneck from his debut "Honky Tonk AM" went to radio in the first quarter of 2001. Shane Avery is grounded in hard work, dedication and family values. His music is traditional country. His songs you'll want to hear again and again. His voice is clean and smooth with a delivery you will believe. |
