Artist History The concept of PRINCIPAL began taking form a long time ago in the subconscious of two young children. Ruben and Hector Ruiz, who are brothers, were introduced to the music industry environment at a very early age. From their father, a well-known Latin-American singer, guitarist, and lyricist, they inherited the dream of being recognized in the world of entertainment. Ruben discovered his interest and ability towards music at the tender age of six. Since then, he dedicated all of his spare time into polishing his musical skills. He practiced intensively, dominating various instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, and piano/keyboard programming. Music is his biggest passion and his most effective form of expression. Ruben is also a founding member of the *NSYNC band playing guitar and keyboards for the last several years. He has performed around the world in every major venue and on every national TV and award show including The Tonight Show, SNL, MTV, The Latin Grammys, and The Billboard Music Awards just to name a few. Hector always dreamed of being a singer. He trained his voice with strict discipline. He spent hours studying his diverse musical influences adding to these his personal touch until he developed his own unique style. Back in school, the students would crowd around to hear him sing and they continually praised his energetic and original dance style. This was the way he acquired the nickname Principal. For the past year Hector has worked with Enrique Iglesias as a background vocalist and has performed around the world and on major TV shows such as VH-1s Men Strike Back and The Tonight Show.
