Artist History
With a breadth of work spanning over two decades and a catalog of several hundred songs to his credit, Kelly Kristjanson is a distinctive voice in the singer/songwriter community of the northwest. An award-winning songwriter, Kelly has been a regular on public access television, written songs for other artists and performed and recorded with his own bands (Brando Bogart, The Want, My Erotic Narcotic) over that period. Most recently Kelly has been busy producing a side project with his pals in the Cunning Hounds as well as finishing a solo record. Several years in the making, Kelly is working under the alias of Earnest Bliss. The title of the record is tentatively called Inabsentia. Asked about the title, Kelly replies The significance of the title is the fact that in addition to writing and producing the project all myself, I have done this record from beginning to end in absence of alcohol and substance free.
Time has seen Kellys songwriting evolve from the power pop and rock sounds of Brando Bogart and the Want (bands he fronted in the 1980s) to a more personal feel. As a songwriter he is unafraid to pour his life out in songs that examine the emotional landscape of life while touching the nerves of love, life and the challenges of sobriety.
