Artist History
The story of the Calhouns began on a couch in Middle Fingerville,SC by two guys named Chuck Doster and Steve Cantrell. In short, we started writing songs from a mini-cassete player Chuck used to sing songs in he made up, do character voices and poetry and set out to form a rock band. With a good straight ahead rock band sound. The three man rock-n-roll band, the Calhouns, was formed the spring of 1999 in Spartanburg.SC. We have played many lives shows over the last couple of years, with the help of a 3 song sampler CD, and continue on now. The Calhouns have been featured on local television WSPA TV7 and local radio airplay. Each band member has played in many other bands in the past and now come together to create a raw, guitar driven, song oriented, down to earth, rock-n-roll sound. In September of 2001 the band released the debut CD, approiately titled, "First," with friend Wilson Warren on organ/piano. This is only a small representation of what the band is live. We continue to write and create songs and look forward to releasing another CD of material. We are now in the process of putting together another collection of songs for another CD and playing as many live shows as we can. Hope to reach as many people as possible.
