Artist History
Man Ace, the phenominal artist once known as Nu Hurizon, has been into music for only a limited time. It wasn't until recently that he decided to pursue his dreams of entertaing crowds via music. "I love to entertain. I used to act alot and I would love to know that I could make people smile or feel an emotion through the performing arts." He started rhyming when a friend of his also took up the hobby. Through time, practice, and patience he honed in on his skills and message. He is still, to this day, figuring out his exact message through music. "I find myself presenting a different message in every song I do. Some are about heartbreak, others are complete nonsense, or about God and life. It changes very rapidly" Coming up with the name Nu Hurizon took some thought. "I was looking for a screen name on AOL that would describe the time that I was in at that point in my life. I felt i was getting refreshed and arriving on a new horizon in my life. So I decided to jazz it up a lil' and it has kept ever since." He also was involved in sports, playing on Varsity Basketball for his high school. "During that time, I started getting a little more focused. I found my old Talkboy (the tape recorder from the movie Home Alone) and I would walk around school trying to get various people to flo a little bit of their stuff." He would continue to write on and off for a year. Finding talent within his high school he formed a group called Mixed Combo, consisting of Vandetta and Rush D. After getting together a couple times, the group went on to win 1st place at the Highline Talent Show. "That night was exciting. I remember waiting to get out there and show everyone what I had." After graduating, the group split due to college and such. "After graduating, there wasn't a whole lot of oppurtunity to collab or grow, so I sat around alot." 6 months later, he tried his hand at digital recording, putting together a collection of songs. Oppurtunity for collaborations also presented themselves, which he took in stride to help grow as an artist. "I love collaborating. I learn so much everytime i tyr to work with others. If it is either writing with them or how they feel a certain vibe of a song, it is a learning expeirence." He looks forward to finishing up his demo and getting his name heard. He attended Eastern Washington University for a short time, placing 3rd in the school battle. His current focus is finishing tracks for Integrated Elements (formerly Mixed Combo) debut CD, i.e.;in other words. Many say that Nu Hurizon will not recieve fame because of the lack of opportunity and exposure in Washington, but if fame does accure in this young man's life.... expect to hear nothing but good things about him. Make sure to support him in any way possible. |
