Artist History Jane Wright is a singer/songwriter/producer based in Portland, Oregon. Jane is a native of Auburn, Alabama, but has adopted Portland for the last seven years, and found it to be a great place to make music. Jane's singing and playing style comes straight out of her experiences of growing up in the south with the sounds of soul, jazz, and church music going on all around her. Original songs filled with emotional imagery, coupled with her smooth, sultry voice, Jane Wright's music captivates the listener to want more. Although her formal training was in classical, band and chorale music, Jane has always been drawn to music that, to her, imbued a strong sense of soul. "I try to write songs that convey a mood, a feeling or a message. I hope I create songs people enjoy or to which they can relate."
