Artist History
VIIth (Seventh) Sun began as Todd Brock and Bobb Clanton met with Brent Smith. Todd & Bobb had been working with each other, but couldn't find the right combination of musicians to fit the groove of what they had in mind. Brent introduced Donovan to the band as they had worked together previously. Todd asked longtime friend Wayne Wear to join in to help fill the rhythm while Todd handled the leads. Most of the songs on this CD were began in Todd and Bobb's previous projects, but really came together when this group began practicing. The word spread quickly through the small town of Rome Georgia and soon a huge following ensued even before the band had ever performed live. The practice sessions became events in and of themselves. While this was good news for the band, it also fed the egos of the band members to an alarming degree. Tension began to mount between band members. The band went to Swamphouse Studios in Adairsville, Ga to record the songs they had been working on. The stress of recording began to take its toll on the band. It became a circus of sorts culminating in a fistfight between the drummer and the band's manager during the mixing of the CD. The band has been on hiatis since the session, and the members have had time to settle down. And with the advantage of hindsight, everyone agrees that the potential is nothing short of phenominal. After all, isn't termoil what has produced the greatest Rock and Roll in history? |
