Artist History
Patrick Ryan is a longtime Northern California performer playing acoustic world folk styles including Irish, Scottish, British Isles, American Old Time and Country Folk.
Pat's current instrument is a six string fretless bass guitar which creates an exciting new sound in contemporary traditional music.
A veteran of numerous bay area bands, Pat has played styles such as pop, folk, rock, blues, soul, swing. He performs regularly on weekends and appears on independent recordings with local artists. He is a semi-professional bandleader and member of the American musicians union.
Originally from Santa Rosa CA Pat took private guitar lessons during elementary school and began bass guitar at Marin Catholic High School in San Rafael.
He eventually graduated from San Jose and San Francisco State Universities, and works days as a vision rehabilitation therapist in Palo Alto CA. During spare
time (what's that?!) he enjoys reading music theory books.
Thanks for your interest!
