Artist description
Mark Macpherson is a rare musical talent. His latest solo work "Dispossessed" has
him playing all instruments including classic and acoustic guitars, flute and cello and
singing his distinctive melancholy vocals. He composes all the music he performs.
"Dispossessed" is an 8 song song-cycle. As with the classical song-cycle format
a story is told by listening to the complete cycle of songs however each song can
be enjoyed on its own.
This song- cycle is a chronology of the end, and after, of an intense relationship
breakdown. Unfortunately, (or perhaps realistically) there is no happy ending.
All these songs were performed acoustically and they retain a freshness and
personal feel. A true marrying of the modern ballad and the classical song-cycle
