Artist History Lean vows to rock with heart and intelligence or die trying. Hot Lava Lucy, Lean's debut CD, was produced by the band and mixed by Karl Derfler (Live, The Verve Pipe, No Doubt, Dave Matthews, Foo Fighters) and Mike Cresswell (Third Eye Blind, Kevin Cadogan, Jerry Cantrell, Mark Eitzel, Oleander), and is available at the band's Website and Amazon.com. Riding the heels of Lucy's success, Lean released a self-titled five song EP in August 2001. The songs on the new disc are decidedly harder edged, but still deeply rooted in the crunchy guitar-pop that defines the Lean sound. Lean has rocked the I-5 circuit up and down the spine of California since 1996. Through appearances at festivals such as Nowhere x Nowhere in Chico, the Orange Show in San Bernardino, San Francisco clubs such as Bottom of the Hill, Paradise Lounge, and the Justice League, and fabled LA venues the Roxy, the Whiskey, and the Coconut Teaszer, Lean has earned a reputation as a must-see live band. Some of the musicians Lean has had the pleasure of sharing a bill with are: Alien Ant Farm, Agent Orange, Zebrahead, Kenochamp, The Step Kings, Soulcracker, The Blue, Orixa, Fetish, DownTemper, Left Out Lamont, Buddhakowski and many others.
