Artist History Kenan Thompson began his acting career at the age of five, playing The Gingerbread Man in a school play. A native of Atlanta, GA., Thompson made his television debut as a cast member of Nickelodeon’s all-kid sketch comedy series All That. He has developed characters for the series such as Super Dude, Pierre Escargot, Ishboo, and together with Kel Mitchell, the two elderly, hard-of-hearing pals Mavis and Clavis. The comedy duo of Kenan and Kel proved so popular that in the fall of ’96 they debuted in their own sitcom, Kenan and Kel, Nickelodeon’s first spin-off series about two best friends who chase after the things most teenagers dream about, but few dare to pursue. Thompson’s other television credits include reporting for CNN’s Real News For Kids, guest-starring on Cousin Skeeter, co-hosting ABC specials Night Crawlers, appearing in the Emmy award-winning series T-Rex, and a guest star on the UPN series The Parkers. Thompson’s feature credits include starring as Russ Tyler in the major motion picture D-2 The Mighty Ducks and appearing in the film Heavy Weights with Ben Stiller. Thompson and Mitchell most recently starred in the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies release Good Burger. Their first feature film together featured the duo as two off-beat high school kids, Ed and Dexter, who help a failing, no-frills burger joint called “Good Burger” become one of the hottest fast food spots in town. Kenan can also be seen in the Universal feature Rocky & Bullwinkle starring Robert DeNiro, Jason Alexander, and Rene Russo. Kenan toured cities throughout the United States with Nickelodeon’s All That Music & More Tour, or you may have seen him in four episodes of the WB hit show Felicity in May 2001. Kenan just wrapped a feature film, “The Guest”, in Vancouver which should be opening next year.
