    Artist History
Ok- so here's the history of the band as best as I can remember. The band's story goes back much further than I think any of us realized at the time we started playing together. Thomas and Mark and I used to go to shows at the same houses and clubs and used to drink beer in the same alleys for years- we knew each other but not really... in fact, Thomas and I used to get mistaken for each other all the time and wonder who this other guy was... So to jump ahead a few years, there was this band in town that blew up from out of nowhere and drew like 500 crazy kids every weekend- they were called INQUISITION. The story that I later got was that Mark put the band together, needed a singer and worked with this guy who sat around singing Prince songs- thus Thomas gets the job and the INQUISITION is born. I honestly had never heard the band but was told by our mutual friend, Tim Barry (from avail) that this great band had lost its bass player and that I should talk to them. So that's what I did -- I think it was at a Four Walls Falling show or maybe a Groove show -- anyway the point is that I talked to Mark after some coaxing from Tim and that was it- we got together a few days later and played some songs. We had a real blast- we played in my basement- wrote songs, rocked and rolled and just really had a great time- I didn't know until some time later that Russ was apparently scared to death of me and thought that I was going to kill him or something... ... So finally after a few months of fighting over keeping the name or changing it, we played our first show out and that led to our first tour six months later in the summer of '95 I think? Let me tell you, this tour was a disaster- our van blew up a few days into the trip and lucky for us, Russ had AAA. Our tour consisted of about 10 days of being towed from show to show throughout the East Coast but as miserable as it was it was the best time ever. As soon as we got home, Thomas and I started booking our first tour across the states. I’m not too sure that if I had known that it would have cost just about $1,000 in phone bills alone to book this thing if we ever would have left. The tour was great from what I remember- totally life changing for me but I’m pretty sure for the rest of the guys as well. The rest is history- we recorded two full length records (the REVOLUTION... record being the better of the two) and completed several U.S. tours before Russ and I left the band during a summer tour in '97. Looking back on everything we did together I do almost wish that we had gone on to make another record but ending with a record as great as this one and as proud of it as we all were I think is almost better. The band broke up for every cliched reason in the book- I’m not even going to get into that- it's really not worth it now. We’ve all made up and put the past behind us. We’re all in new bands that you should check out: Russ and I went on together to form ANN BERETTA, Mark started RIVER CITY HIGH, and after some soul searching Thomas finally found some people to make great music with and called it STRIKE ANYWHERE after the INQUISITION song. I think we all look back on the band with a lot of fondness despite the way things fell apart- I know I do- I still listen to that record all the time- I think we were part of something great and I hope the rest of the guys think so as well..... -Rob (Taken from insert of Revolution...
