Artist History Animated Dead originally formed in Belleville Il in 1990 as a quartet, Pete Smith/drums, Todd Donaldson/guitars, Rik Geib/guitars, and Spence Riggle/bass/vocals. The band released their first demo entitled Animation of the Dead in 91'. Tracks included Disgraced, Evil Spirits, Disturbed, Twist of Mind and Animation of the dead. Animated pursued grinding the underground and opening for such acts as Death, Gorefest, and Sacrifice. Band members parted ways in 94'. In early 2000 Spence decided to reform Animated Dead, adding drummer Jeff Riggle, guitar player Chris Benecke (formerly of Cicatrix) and original guitarist Rik Geib. Animated reconstructed the old material and wrote brutalizing new tracks... The band is currently playing shows through out the Midwest offering brutal deathgrind to the metal underground. Animated entered the studio in early February 2002 and laid down tracks for a new self-titled demo. The demo will include Remember I Lied, Parasitic, Pathetic Creation, Dead to the Followers of god, Despise and a bonus track. Look for it in early March of 2002!
