Artist History After his departure from Born From Pain in February 2001, guitarist Servé a.k.a. Bolle decided he wanted to start something new, hard and innovating. He caught up with friend Roy, from whom he knew was a very skilled drummer. Together they started rehearsing at Roy´s house in an upstairs room, sizing only 2 m2. Immediately, they experienced a good cooperation, reflected by the composition of 5 songs in just 6 rehearsals. At that time the quest for a bassist and vocalist was initiated. At the 5th European Hardcore party end March 2001, which Roy and Servé attended, acquaintance and bassist Richard got mixed in a conversation with Servé while watching a Born From Pain show from the backstage. Richard, whom at the time didn’t know Servé had already left BFP, wondered why Servé wasn’t on stage. After a long explanation and the mentioning of his new band, Richard asked if they still needed a bassist. “F%*k yeahâ€� was the answer and a bassist was found. 3 down 1 to go. After a few rehearsals with Richard something came to Roy´s mind. He remembered someone from a band that he met at one time, being a potential vocalist. By coincidence this guy rehearsed at the same studio as Roy with his other band, so checking him out was done very quickly. This is how Mike came in the picture. He seemed to have high singing capabilities, making him a perfect addition to the band. This gave all the reason to ask him if he might be interested in becoming the voice of a this new band. Luckily, he told that he always wanted to sing in a hardcore/metal kind of band and would love to complete the band that still had no name. This realized the line up which stands firm on its feet. At the upcoming rehearsals in a newly found studio, many prospective band names were throw on the table, but none had a real powerful catch to it. Totally unexpected, the recently acquired soundman, Ralph, brought up the name which gave this band its identity; 37 StabwoundZ. 37 StabwoundZ is not your ordinary hardcore or metal band. The 37 StabwoundZ-sound is a mixture of different kind of metal, cross-over hardcore flavours. Big influences are bands like MachineHead, Pantera, Crowbar and Merauder. Despite these influences, a very own character is maintained. With low-tuned guitars, heavy-artillery drums, phat bass and a roaring throat all processed in one package, 37 StabwoundZ produces a solid sound. In the past, the live-stage has been shared many times with various bands like Krutch, Until the End, Discipline, Agrèsion, Length of Time, Iron Cross and Backfire!
