Artist History
In 1999, when punk first spewed itself across the streets of Waterman and Highland Avenue, most of you were still just an itch in your daddy’s pants. The Discipline Engine, at that time called The Red Scare were banging it out in a run down garage and Pissing on their neighbors walls. The bands original line-up consisted of Cody on Guitar, Kevin on vocals, Keaton Macon on bass, and J.C. on Drums. Due to Keaton’s lack of attendance, he failed to make the bands requirements. He was later replaced by Chucky. Ian Fletcher later replaced J.C. due his gross incompetence. Steve later joined the band, and besides his dismissal, and the addition of guitar player Alexis Chavez in 2001 the band’s line-up has remained for the most part consistent.
The first show was a noisy concoction of curse words and Kevin’s drunken ramblings. There was no sound check and for twenty-five glorious minutes the Discipline Engine (then called Propriety) made history. Since then the band has been doing for themselves, just as they always have. The future and the road ahead, seem at times bleak, but in the words of Crass, “This is no tail between the leg ending, but a proud, albeit painful and confused, beginning. Love, Peace, and Freedom.”
