Artist History
StraightBent was born in a simple attempt to find the meaning of themselves through music. Simple yet soulful, the band started as an acoustic project with Ray Marchese at the guitar and Steven Sanchez on vocals (1999). The sound created did not remain unnoticed and would soon entertain the idea of making additions. Their search was rigorous, but ultimately did not lead far as they found faith and comfort in a close friend behind the drums (Josh Weitzel). All that was left was the need for an experienced bassist. The band found what they thought they were looking for in their first album, a raw cut demo the band self-titled (2000). Individually, each of them could not find complete satisfaction with the apparent prematurity of the attempt for they knew they could be much more. Over time the band realized they needed a change to completely fulfill what they were searching for, but let their live performances ease their anxiety as the quartet was we! ll received time and time again. Eventually the inevitable arose and the band was on the search for a new bassist. The band knew it would be essential to find someone with the knowledge, skill and drive to grow and prosper and has newfound excitement in the addition of Chris Weitzel on bass. Everyone within is vastly improving together as the chemistry has changed, but not its potency. Finally, we look forward in establishing this as the creation of a sound less heard and a piece of mind stretching far beyond all expectations.
Thank-You all for your support!!!!
