With influences ranging from early black, death and trash bands like Bathory, VoiVod, or Slayer to platinum metal icons like Metallica and Dream Theater, it is not surprising to hear that Novembre lives up to the standards of such harsh, atmospheric metal bands as Anathema, Opeth and Katatonia. Novembre add romance to metal and aren't afraid to experiment and play with the listeners emotions.

    Artist History
The rain began to fall in September 1990. Back then the band was called Catacomb. This obscure combo was founded by the two brothers Carmelo and Giuseppe Orlando (respectively as guitars / vocals and drums) after their moving from Catania (Sicily) to Rome. Up until the present, the line-up has changed several times around the two brothers. In November 1991, Catacomb released their first demo entitled "Unreal". The whole work was not perfect and the sound quality was not that great but you could notice how the band's style was becoming more and more personal, thus detaching themselves from the trendy Death Metal mass, so popular at the time. In the early months of 1993 they released a 7" EP called "The Return of the Ark" published by Sacra Sindone Recs. which sold about 2000 copies and gave the band some good exposure and popularity throughout the world's underground scene In the Summer of 1994 the band decided to rename the band under a new moniker, which would be more suited to the music they played. The name NOVEMBRE was chosen because it reflected perfectly the mood of their music. At this time the band got signed with Polyphemus Records and in October 1994 they went to Dan Swano’s Unisound studios in Sweden to record their first CD entitled "Wish I could dream it again" which reached 5000 copies sold. After about two years of hard work, they brought to light their second CD entitled "Arte Novecento" which showed a vast improvement of what the band did with "Wish...", turning the whole work into a darker sonority. The album contains a personal version of the Depeche Mode's hit "Stripped". In the Spring of 1997 Massimiliano Pagliuso joined the band as second guitarist and in April 1998 Alessandro Niola joined them as well, as bass player. In Winter 1998 the band signed with the German label Century Media and Novembre released the critically acclaimed album "Classica"
