Artist History
Fuzzbox was conceived on a hot January afternoon in 1995 when Linda Ong and Ho Kah Y, under the instigation of Loo Eng Teck, kidnapped Shaun Grosse and forced him to join the band as a supporting guitarist. They later forced him at knifepoint to sing for the band and he ended up writing songs as well.
One of the group’s greatest regret was to name themselves Fuzzbox after the release of their first demo in 1997. Since then, public recognition has prevented them from changing their name after the novelty of being Fuzzbox wore off. Even now, the band still receives email from middle-aged American men mistaking them for the 80’s all girl group.
The band’s greatest challenge is to reflect a level of maturity in their songs. This was a major problem when the group was young, immature, and had a tendency to exaggerate things. It helped that Shaun Grosse and Linda Ong, being the main songwriters of the band, grew up a little and expanded their tastes in music.
In their spare time, all four members try to stay away from one another as far as possible. They also enjoy sending spiteful emails, and conspiring to kick one another out of the band. The group is currently hatching a diabolical plan to take over the world.
Contrary to popular belief, the members of Fuzzbox are not self-absorbed and serious. They are just self-absorbed.
