Artist History A Corpse Named Abel was established in November 2001. ACNA's lineup has been together over a year now. The only thing ACNA aims to accomplish with our music is to progress as musicians and as human beings by conveying our experiences and opinions through our songs. This band was originally called Vespa Rose when we began in Feburary 2001. A few shows were played under that name. We changed the members a few months afterward. With the new lineup, most of the material was thrown out and started anew. Since the member change, the music had become a little more technical and melodic due to all of our influences combined. We decided to change the name since we changed the face of the music. We went with Everloving Gift and under this line up we played a few shows. One performance was at Furnace Fest '01. We were still working out our sound and getting material that we thought was presentable while going through this transition. We hit a few bumps in the road and we had a line up change once again. With alot of new and better material we decided that we should change the name again. The main reason was because the name Everloving Gift caused some copyright problems. With the new sound being harder than before and also more uptempo, we went with the name A Corpse Named Abel. Under the current name, we have worked over the last year honing new material, playing shows when we can, and planning to record a new EP in October. We have recently signed with Unorthodox Records of Birmingham, AL and the EP and a full-length will be released under that over the next 9 months. ACNA will be planning a steady show lineup fitting between our busy schedules and a tour or two will be planned in 2003.
