    Artist History
What started in 1997 as a group of friends getting together to play around with some ideas and have some fun, quickly became a more serious pasttime. The band, then a 5 piece going by the name of "Sack Cloth and Ashes" enjoyed getting together to have a little fun and play their favorite covers. After only a short time, of playing and one play date under their belts the band realized that they wanted to create their own music and shortly thereafter dropped to a 4 peice. They began to write songs with almost feverish intensity, in a style that could be described as heavy/punk/dark metal. Their music was met with some apprectiation and some riddicule in the local scene, but realizing how much they enjoyed what they were doing they kept writing and playing anywhere they could get a show at. After losing yet another member and becoming a 3 piece, they decided to work on developing their sound into a more coherent package. As a result they maintained a heavy edge but the music became darker and more sullen with more complication than in the previous sound. They continued to get more area shows and their popularity began to grow. Feeling as though they were in a rut after pursuing this style for quite some time, and with their fan base having peaked off the band sought yet more improvement. Feeling the need to re-invent themselves they took on a new name "Silverfall" and went for a slightly more mainstream sound. The resulting music was a mix of heavier guitar, and mellow vocals with tight percussion and a slight vintage rock sound. They continued to take on shows where they could and to push their music. Their first album, which was self titled, was cut in 1999 at Media Productions in Oak Hill, WV. After the release of the album their name began to spread and they began to take on more fans and grow in popularity. After doing a morning spotlight show on the largest local FM radio station in their home town, they discovered Mp3.com and began to seek fans elsewhere in the nation and world through the internet. At the peak of their popularity their song "Bend" reached 54 on the Alternative General charts on Mp3.com out of several thousand. While things were building and seemed to be going well, difficulties began to develop and situations came up. After having to turn down a record contract with a small label, the band lost another member, guitarist - Ben Cunill and was put on hold. Soul Collision is the new sound that has developed after that break. After having time to think about what they wanted from their music and to develop music that reflected those desires, Drummer - Raj Mikkilineni and vocalist/instrumetnals - Jeremy Ruth went back into the studio to cut a new album. "Soul Collision - Unwound". Since then they have added members and passion. They are pursuing a life of music with tenacity and desire. After recording another album in 2002 "Window Into Darkness" it was time to hit the streets. They have been booking every show they can and sharing their music every chance they get. Where to from here? The skies the limit and their giving it everything they have to reach it!
