Artist History SLaPiNFuNK (Jason Mendelson) has been a musician since he was 6 years old. Started by teaching himself how to play guitar till he switched to the bass at the age of 13. Since then he has played acoustic bass in many different jazz bands backing jazz artists like Bobby Watson and John Faddis. He has even played bass in the rock band ESTRANGEMENT based out of Miami Florida and was a co-writer / bassist for Vanilla Ice"s new album "BI-POLAR" to be released 2001. At the age of 15 SLaPiNFuNK discovered electronic music. Started going to parties just to listen to the music and then found himself producing his own tracks. Then was turned onto the art of Mixing, which opened up his musical ears to a whole new world. In the year 2k SLaPiNFuNK started playing parties. He has played parties in Chicago Illinois, Conneticut, St. Louis Missouri, Indianapolis Indiana, Iowa, Naples Florida, Rochester & Albany New York, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. SLAP T 001 the first 12" vinyl release of SLaPiNFuNK"s drum n bass tracks released on Smokin Rabbi bassed out of the UK in December of 2000 began more of a demand for SlaPiNFuNK. His newer tracks are very much awaited by many drum n bass DJs around the US and a select few are playing dub plates of them rite now. SLAP T 002 his last release with all of the copies released SOLD in just 2 days and now O O P!. SLAP T 003 is now just around the corner. This 3 track 12" will be commin your way before you know it!
