Artist History
hailing from the mid-west, now residing in Los Angeles,
rice's musical career started back in 4th grade
when he took viola lessons, then moved on to a more
electric sound of the key board, and had some lessons
on the drums . In college dan studied music
and audio recording. In 1994 DJ wild rice started buying
underground dance records and spinning at parties in '96.
Around this time dan started making tracks on an old commodore
amiga 500 computer and an alesis HR-16 drum machine.
In '98 and '99 he played various clubs in madison, and
chicago and earned a residency at a bi-weekly jungle
night. In 2000, 2001 and 2002 dj wild rice upgraded his computer and has produced
tracks for the radio, commercials, feature films, and
landed a new residencies at liquid city and club sixty six in hollywood spining 80's pop/rock hits.
dan also works as a sound mixer for film and television,
and records with several LA bands. Look for vinyl releases
and new songs in 2004, from his band 'Thrift Store Stereo'. |

Press Reviews
Black Cat13
mixtape review from 3.22.97: Dan Green - Amped
One of the many tapes that have flooded in from
Madison, this one (like most of the others)
delivers the goods. Let's get a little history.
Dan Green is paying his dues. He's a promoter,
dj, recording engineer, and artist. The album is
about 30 minutes per side. Side 1 is an excursion
through the trancey side of things. Side 2 takes
you on a hardstep junglist trip that you wish
won't end. Nice J-card, good sound quality,
amazing track selection mixed as smooth as your
girlfriends ass. Dan Green is an up-and-coming
in the jungle scene, so be sure to check this
tape out. -tim |
