Artist History
Dan Vaillancourt, a native of Midland, Michigan, intertwines styles derived from influences as diverse as John Prine, Victor Wooten and Bobby Mcferrin. Wielding his custom funkified 10-string, one never knows what to expect. From his beatboxing to his voice trumpet, each concert is subject to spontaneity. "My aspiration is to make my voice and guitar do things that they shouldn't be able to do." His inventive spirit keeps breathing new life into his songs, sometimes even pushing songs that appear on his self-titled debut album to all new levels.
Dan's touring schedule is continually increasing; playing over a hundred shows a year in not only Michigan but now expanding into the Eastern US. It's hard to believe that he is still a full time college student and music instructor.
"I am the music and the music is me, my music lives. I pour my soul out every time that I play."

Press Reviews
This disc is a medley of musical talent. Folk, rap and all around genuine rock and roll. Interestingly written lyrics fill this twelve song disc with something… different. An ear opening blend of music fills your mind. Dan Vaillancourt's music deserves not to be compared to others, it is an entity all its own. It is very inspirational, some bluesy rock on song three 'Adeline', but still mixed with other genres throughout. Dan knows how to create a mix of music gender that pleases the soul. Very relaxing, this talented effort is worth checking out.-Yvonne Glasgow (Music Revue May 2002) |
