    Artist History
Musical abstraction is the first characteristic that represent BLASTFAME. Evolution is another one; "ABSTRACT EVOLUTION" is the name of their first album. Formed approximately four years ago, this band did not stop to refresh their sound since the beginning. Basically it wasn't a serious band, who didn't take long to join the Quebec metal scene. Form at the beginning with three members (Mathieu Roy (vocals, bass), Jean-François Richard (drums), Max England (guitars) who, still part of the actual line up, accompanied by Eric Chartrand (guitars) and Jean-Michel Fournier (bass). This latest one overtakes the formation before the tape session of the album. Earlier the recording of their demo (shadow1999), Math put the bass away to focus only on the vocal aspect, Jonathan Deslaurier took place at the bass and Éric joined the row two months after. Realized by Yvan Ratelle, Undead's guitarist, this production slowly help them to being known in Montreal, even this mini cd isn't representative and is not the direction they want to go trough. Direction who was discovered with the album "ABSTRACT EVOLUTION" (Dec.2001). An evolution of a new explosive death metal quite performed. Precision, definition, intensity, is for sure the principal quality and reason to bring the band to achieve the perfection on and on. This album contained three old songs completely regenerated of their demo aligned with six new chaotic extract. Composed of absolutely crushing guitars, these extract are superposed of defined deep bass. These nine titles machinated by a devastated drums, the whole, finalized by some rustling vocals. Recorded at Pierre Rémillard studio's, the master of sonorisation in Québec, by the reputed Jean-François Dagenais (Kataklysm's guitarist) and mixed at the famous Victor studio, this professional production was detected by the Montreal's label NEOBLAST. The artwork, made by the insane SV Bell, representing technology's evolution between the human race, is a unreal paint. In their young career, BLASTFAME played with many reputed band like; Anonymus, Kataklysm, Krisiun, The Crown, Neuraxis, Kralizec, Spasme etc. Something who allowed them to gained a sharp experience in their execution and precision's skills. They also, in January 2001, played in a contest "battle of the band" in which they won the second place in an average of thirty other bands. Beside Neuraxis, Adenine, Spasme, Atheretic and more, BLASTFAME take part of the compilation "Québec invasion" (march 2002), an entirely production from Québec who has for objective to promote the metal scene. The year 2002 seem to be well started for the quintet with the coming out of their album and the Canadian distribution, the participation on some compilation and interview (radios & magazines), the title "Major blood" on mp3.com, the arrival their website and its only the beginning! Be prepare for the abstraction...
