Artist description
Christian Vocalist/Guitarist - Rudy Tinoco, born and
raised in San Jose, California, now makes his
home in Forest Grove, Oregon with his wife and
three children. Through heartfelt scriptural
lyrics and catchy melodies, Rudy celebrates the
joys of God's love and faithfulness. The songs
that Rudy sings reflect a life that has not been
untouched by tragedy and pain. From the divorce of
his parents to the death of his younger brother, and from drug addiction to a
failed marriage, Rudy's mission is to share his
testimony of the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
His lyrics capture the doubts and fears that are
common to all of us who are called to serve Jesus Christ.
Tonite is his first attempt at a recording project, and
Rudy hopes that it will bless those who hear it, and
above all, bring glory to God.

RUDY TINOCO
FOREST GROVE: Rudy Tinoco of Forest Grove has
released his first solo CD, Tonite, featuring
original contemporary Christian music. The
28-year-old father of three has channeled
his checkered past into a ministry he hopes
will save other young people from taking
the paths he took, he said. Tinoco grew up
in a rock and roll musical family and was a
Buddhist raised by his Mexican mother. His
parents' divorce, fatherhood at an early age
and forays into drugs and alcohol have had
their influence on the man and his music.
I'm not perfect, he says of his Christian faith.
Perfection is a journey, not a destination. It's
a slow process. Tinoco's CD, written in
collaboration with Zach Milton and Randy Baker
and performed in his own mellow voice, includes
cuts called Tears, Blessed, Tonite and
I'll Press On. Gary Watters at Take the Lid Off
Productions in Hillsboro coached the novice
recording artist, who had dabbled in pop music in
San Jose, Calif., where he was born and raised.
He moved to Forest Grove a year ago and works in
inventory at Intel. He and his wife, Charlene, a
student at Pacific University, and his three
children enjoy family activities that include
worship at Wapato Valley Church in Gaston. I
love to work with college-aged people, Tinoco
says of his calling. Eventually, I'd like to be
able to make a living doing what God has gifted
me to do and that's music, he said. Tinoco is
eager to give his music a wider audience and is
available to play at local churches and youth
organizations. He can be reached through Wapato
Valley Church or via his website at
