"Hailing from El Monte, Caliornia it is no surprise that these guys have the FatWreck/Sk8punk/Melodic hardcore sound down to a T. Fast drums beats, plenty of octave chords, melodic vocals and the classic "I used to play metal but now I play punk" guitar work. I was almost immediately reminded of old '88 Fingers Louie'. These guys are great at what they do, and if you're in to Good Riddance, No Use For A Name, or 88 Fingers Louie, this band is definetly worth checking out."

"Yet again, I come to find that first impressions are never quit accurate. My first impression on the band name: typical; first impression on cd: typical; first impression on music itself: surprisingly good. "Alone" is their second release, seven songs long, and well recorded. Vocalist, Jowee's voice is a lot stronger than the usual local punk band vocalist. Musically, the sound would be called punk, I can't really put my finger on the technicalities of what "kind" of punk...but it is sufficient enough. The power guitar riffs drive most of the music, while the drums and bass complement the speed (and I'm talking SPEED) of the rest of the music. Outtareach is one of the most well put together local bands I've heard. They have won numerous Battle of the Bands, won first place at one of Corona's Showcase Showdowns, and two wins at Whittier's Club Memories Battle of the Bands. My favorite song is number 3 "Golden Rule," sort of reminiscent of AFI... Yes, that's it, AFI minus Davy Havok vocals (Jowee's aren't that strong). Visit the website to find out how to get a hold of this CD." |
