Artist History
Joined the first False Epiphany band in 1999 primarily as a mixer, but FE didn't really get anywhere, and soon disbanded.
Akuma then reformed 'false Epiphany' with scar3crow, the original frontman of the group.
Intending to set out as a metal/industrial band, things to follow for fE were in no way planned from the start.
Too Dice joined the fray, and the (perhaps unduly) acclaimed A Presence was the fruit of their collective labours.
Practically worlds away from their guitar-bass-drum-mixer beginnings,
A Presence was a varied atonal electronic collection of instrumental tracks.
Because they were still cutting their teeth at the whole thing, a remix album
(rather than a full followup) was created next; Residual Hauntings.
Employing a much more sweeping ambient soundscape feel, RH was pretty different
to the original A Presence, but still a little too similar in style.
From the outset, fE had chosen to endeavour to never stay still, musically.
Because of this, another electronic work was not the way forward
for the band, so the trio have taken a break from the
unity of false Epiphany to work with other people,
to refine their individual styles and musical sensibilities,
to experiment, if you will.
Lucid Charade is the assumed solo alias of Akuma,
and the first EP, Static Dreamlands, is the result
of heavy experimentation, influenced primarily by
electronic greats like Aphex Twin, and, to an extent,
Nine Inch Nails.
It's experimentory nature means you will probably hate it.
So don't be surprised if you do. |
