Artist History Emerging from the depths of what once was formerly (and arguably still is) the "New Music Capitol of the World", Brother Justice is setting the standards for what is considered rock music with an edge. The band formed when two of its members, Chad and MJ, both decided to move forward form their previous project, Daybreak. After already playing together for half a year, and performing nearly 30 shows, they both decided to look for members who could focus on the same simple objective they had, writing awesome music and getting it to as many people as possible. After auditioning several drummers, they knew they had found a unique talent in Jay and offered him the permanent position. A metal drummer, Jay had just come out of a 2 year hiatus after leaving his former band, Relic, of which he was a co-founder and had played in for 10 years. He was interested in broadening his musical background and moving in a different direction than his last band. The three then began focusing on a new goal, a front man with a voice and stage presence like no other. They tried out between 10-15 different singers. Though many were good, and some very good, almost every one of them had different objectives or were looking to go in a different direction than the three wanted. After auditioning as many people as they had, the three were beginning to become disappointed, not to mention exhausted. The band was about to “settle” on someone before a new demo arrived at MJ’s house. He reviewed it, and was impressed enough to show the guys and set up a rehearsal. Chadlee entered the picture as someone experienced in the local music scene, looking for musicians with whom he shared a common ground. After a 5 year stint with his former band Porch Dog, he was ready to approach music at a slightly different angle. He performed the demo songs he had been sent by MJ with ease, showing that he was willing to do his homework, a rare virtue among today’s musicians. The band was instantly impressed, but decided to play it safe and call him back a second time to solidify their decision. By the second practice Chadlee had learned a few more of the tunes the band had been working on in the weeks prior, as well as showcasing some of the material he had written on his own. By the end of that practice there was no question who the new front man of Brother Justice would be. Almost at breakneck pace, the finally completed band began writing and rehearsing in order to form a set list they were all confident would leave people in awe. Within 2 months they were ready to get back to what they all loved doing, performing. The bands first shows were lo-key, and little advertising or promoting was done. After a very strong and encouraging initial reaction from audiences, they began to book formal shows around the Seattle area. The band has begun recording their debut album, which is tentatively scheduled for completion at the end of November. Once released, the band will begin shopping it to major and independent record labels, as well as making it available at shows and on there website.
