Artist History VERSE O.N.E Shawn Folk, a.k.a- Verse O.N.E, Verse being short for Versatile O.N.E being an abbreviation for one n.i.g.g.a (never ignorant getting goals accomplished) entertaining is originally from Brooklyn, New York. He later moved with his family to the Spanish Harlem section of Manhattan where he started his rap career. At an early age, Verse O.N.E took to music from all genres and says it is that universal ear that aided him in sculpting the style of rap we hear today. Verse O.N.E has been rapping since the age of 13, and even at 13, he stood out from his junior high schools other rappers. At age 22, Verse O.N.E has a face no older than 16 and a mind filled with an abundance of knowledge that is beyond his years. Being the second youngest child in a family of seven. Verse O.N.E knows how to stand out in a crowd and like his rap style, one can see how he manages to be unique in both personality and performance. It was that uniqueness that caught the ear and attention of Crack DAT Head producer, Melthoven one of the most prolific unknown producers of our time. Verse O.N.E’s first connection with the public was a local N.Y.C public access performance at a club called 22 West. Where he tore it down and received a standing obviation. He also has received his five minutes of fame when bet came to his neighborhood to record an episode of Rap City and he and his friends got into a live cipher with KRS-1 that they aired on the show in the summer of 96. Verse O.N.E has also had a little showbiz stint as an extra on the hit N.B.C show “ED”..So see whether it is rapping , acting , or performing , Verse O.N.E has proven that he is versatile, talented , and capable of anything.
