Artist description
Sazacha Red Sky is one of Grandmother's girls. Grandmother is her endearment for Mother Earth. At present, her home is a sancturary for countless cat people and urban wildlife find food and refuge from the encroachment and abuse of city humans. She also feeds about 100 street 'kids' every second night, most of them homeless and abused felines in Toronto where she is currently stationed.
"I am dedicated to serving and protecting all of Grandmother's children and to exposing their perpetrators."
For fifteen years Sazacha Red Sky has dedicated her musical pursuits to carrying the message that "love is the answer". Her debut solo, self-released album, RED SKY RISING was nominated for a Canadian JUNO award.
Sazacha Red Sky began a professional career as a young girl in Canada. She is both American and Canadian and has worked supporting countless musical celebrities as a singer and musician, BOB HOPE, CHER, BRYAN ADAMS and BON JOVI to name a few.
It's the music and words that Sazacha Red Sky shares with us that transforms and transcends. She does not patronize and often mixes humor and emotion while ruthlessly exposing the human for what it is and what is isn't. She truthfully kicks our ass. |

Press Reviews
"One could be tempted to spend a lot of time writing about Sazacha's fabulous voice, if her twelve-string wasn't such Bayou Blues incredibility and her harmonica wasn't so powerful woman." - Mary Heckler, Heartsong Magazine
"Red Sky's four-octave range and guitar and Blues and harp playing blend Ry Cooder dry twangs and the rhythms of First Nations chants and a Wyndam Hill meditative quality in a wonderful mix . . . If her shows are anything like her records, Toronto is missing a world-class talent right under our noses." - Andrew Sun, NOW Magazine - Toronto, Canada
"RED SKY RISING is more than music. It is an experience that begins with a simmering voice rising up from the depths of the sea, primal and ageless, answering our innermost ancient yearnings at the vibratory level, the cellular level, with an utterly contemporary call-to-feel… To really feel the entire range of physical sensation and raw, undiluted emotion." - Lone Wolf Circles, Talking Leaves - Eugene Oregon |
