Artist description
Youngster's sound is often compared to a cross
between the quirky song-writing style of bands
like They Might Be Giants or Ben Folds Five and
harder rocking bands like Weezer and Everclear.
Their songs range from upbeat, straight ahead
pop/rock (such as Moment of Silence and My Room)
to even Latin types of beats (such as No Toy
Surprise). In between there is a mixture of
dynamic grooves, melodic guitar and bass playing,
along with great lyrics and harmonies. What makes
Youngster unique is their ability to take a song
through many stages, carefully writing concise
parts that bring the emotion behind their songs
to new heights and depths in music. |

Artist History
Youngster has been actively gigging the NYC scene for well over 4 years. Jared, Marc, Steve and Anne Marie met through the Village Voice over a period of two years. Their early shows were mostly at CB's Gallery, Lion's Den, and Spiral but have since moved up the ranks to headline slots at places like CBGB, Arlene Grocery, Luna Lounge, Mercury Lounge, Brownies, Fez. In recent days, Youngster has been active in Philadelphia at venues like Grape Street Pub and Pontiac Grill. With East Coast tours planned this summer, bringing them as far down as North Carolina, they have a busy line up ahead of them. For a more detailed history, see www.youngsterworld.com. |
