Press Reviews
The Puritans, on their debut disc Marquee Themes, do handstands and
cartwheels - revved up psychobilly, jazz-blues...they are fully loaded!
Just like driving through a wild Barcelona night with a madcap taxi driver and a herd of crazy
Spaniards. (Vox magazine, Calgary, Jan. 1998)
All 15 tracks are pulse-pounders that will have you
ready for some action at the drop of a hat.
(Discorder, Vancouver, March, 1998)
If there was ever any reason to get out and check
a live set from a band whose CD made yer eyebrows
off your fat head, THIS band is THAT reason.
(Flipside, Pasadena, August, 1998)
Score one for Canada because they finally got a
rock'n'roll group worthy of the rock'n'roll
monicker. (In Music We Trust, Portland, Jan. 1999)
Marquee Themes delivers an enjoyable mixture of
menace and suave swagger. (The Onion, Madison, April, 1999)
