Artist description
“Seeing SPAT! live explains why they spell the band name with an exclamation point. Be ready for a real rock n’ roll show!” quotes Melody Baetens of The Detroit News. The band SPAT! puts the ROCK back in rock n’ roll. SPAT!’s live performances are known for their energy and style. Fronted by dynamic lead vocalist, Debbie Toscano and partner in crime, electrifying guitarist Bruce Bryson, are rounded out by powerful bassist Gretchen Domino and drummer Angie Kaiser. SPAT! has evolved into a hard-edged rocking sensation. They create their own Detroit sound, characterized by textured melodies, solid rhythms, abstract lyrics and screeching punk guitars. Since arriving on the scene, SPAT! has performed at many showcases, locally and regionally, including Undercurrrents National Music Conference. The band recently took the show on the road to surrounding cities with a performance that won over Canadian audiences at the legendary Toronto club, the El Mocambo. Their songs have been featured on numerous local compilations such as “Motor CD”, a release distributed nationally. SPAT!’s powerhouse version of “T.V. EYE” was recorded especially for the Iggy Pop tribute compilation “POP O.D.-The Songs of Iggy Pop”. They are currently in the studio finishing up their debut CD tentatively titled “ME” on Static Records for an early 2000 release. Till then SPAT! can be found wooing audiences around Detroit. SPAT!~ Music full of power and attitude with a touch of style! |
